Who is Sai Baba?

Sathya Sai Baba is a spiritual teacher, whose life inspires millions of people worldwide to realise their innate divinity and have faith in God. His teachings are universal to all religions, yet he is not seeking to start a new religion. Rather he urges us to go to the roots of our own faith whatever it may be, to rediscover the universal Truth therein.

He was born on Tuesday the 23rd of November 1926 at Puttaparthi, a tiny remote village in Southern India. His life has been a constant manifestation of His Divinity. and a perfect example of what it means to be human. He says "My Life is My message" and teaches the five basic human values of TRUTH, RIGHT CONDUCT, PEACE, LOVE and NON-VIOLENCE.

What is the mission statement?

I have come not to disturb or destroy any Faith, but to confirm in his own Faith, so that the Christian becomes a better Christian, the Muslim a better Muslim and a Hindu a better Hindu. I have come to reconstruct the ancient highway to God; to instruct all in the essence of Vedas, to shower on all this precious gift; to protect Sanathana Dharma, the Ancient Wisdom and to preserve it. My Mission is to serve happiness and so I am always happy to come to come among you, not once but twice, thrice as often as you want me. To set right those who have taken to wrong path and to protect the good people, Sai will be born again and again.

History of Sathya Sai Organisation in Gauteng

The first gathering of Sai Baba of Puttaparthi devotees was initiated by the Harry Lalla family of Lenasia in the old Transvaal. Bhajans started in the upper level of the double storey family home at HummingBird Ave, Lenasia in the year 1970. Brother Lalla went to the extent of having a glass design of the 'Stupa' made as part of the decor to this upper level satsang room in his house. Incidently, today, ie. 37 years later,  this mural is still in place. Brother Lalla went on to host Bhajans and other Sai activities from this venue.
